Pachmarhi, also known as the 'Queen of Satpura', is a central Indian hill station located in Madhya Pradesh. It is perched in the Satpura range, which makes it the highest point in Madhya Pradesh, with an immensely rich history. Its diverse flora and fauna cover up the many natural attractions in the form of waterfalls, forests, and ancient caves. Pachmarhi was discovered by Captain James Forsyth of the British Army in 1857 and later developed as a sanatorium and hill station.
Another of the most popular places in Pachmarhi is the Dhupgarh, the highest peak of the Satpura range, which offers stunning sunset views. The Bee Falls are another exciting place, renowned for its beautiful landscape and as a source of town drinking water. Other places of interest are the natural cave formation of Jatashankar, with stalagmites that are like Lord Shiva's matted locks, and Handi Khoh, which is a deep ravine associated with mythology.
